The 10 Best Hotels in Morocco to Book in 2024

Caravan Agafay Morocco

Whether you’re planning your first trip to Morocco or your fifth, these hotels in Morocco are sure to inspire your travels to the North African country. The curated list of the best hotels in Morocco below is the result of both our planning in 2023 to visit Marrakech for the first time, as well as our 2024 planning to return to Morocco.

Although I fell in love with the red city of Marrakech, when planning our 2024 trip back to Morocco, I felt tugged to discover a different part of the country. I began my research by simply looking for an amazing hotel in the country to guide my travels, hence the list below.

Our curated list of the best hotels in Morocco to book in 2024 includes properties within proximity to Marrakech (to see our favorite riads in Marrakech, head here), adventurous desert camps in Agafay and throughout Morocco, and beachside hotel destinations in Morocco including hotels in Essaouira, Tangier and Dakhla Lagoon.

All photos in the remainder of this post are from the hotel, Airbnb or booking.com websites and are not my own.

From the Reviews: If possible, I would give Berber Lodge a 15 instead of a 10! We started and ended our holiday here and we really loved the combination of the authentic atmosphere in combination with the outstanding comfort. The super kind staff is very dedicated to the guests and to the property, which is maintained excellent. Breakfast was delicious, and the restaurant serves high quality meals with excellent wines both for very reasonable prices. The owner of the hotel, Mr Romain, went beyond expectations! Again, the accommodation is authentic and yet incredibly comfortable. Beds are amazing. Everything is so clean. I can't think of anything that Mr Romain could do better. We will be back for sure!

From the Reviews:  I usually don’t take the time to write reviews, but this deserves it. From the moment of arrival, the staff is very friendly. Very easy check in, our rooms are very clean and beautifully decorated. We stayed for 5 days in December and only one night was very cold, the rest of us didn't even feel it. Everything they did for the new year is incredible, the dinner, the music, the fireworks. If you have the opportunity to be there at that time, I would definitely put it as a priority. We went to the yoga offered by the hotel every morning and they did one with the sunset and music, absolutely incredible The food, all fresh products, variety, and delicious. Many activities to do for the family We took quads, e-bikes, some afternoons we went for a walk and found other campsites or cafes. It is a very safe, quiet place, perfect to disconnect. I recommend it a thousand percent

From the Reviews: We spent an exceptional week at Villa Baboucha. Thank you Jérôme and Émile for creating this place! It is a villa where we are welcomed very warmly by Ghizlane and Mohktar (and their beautiful little Oumnia). Ghizlane prepares succulent meals and Mohktar takes care of our comfort and well-being in the villa. Their presence is caring and discreet and we also experienced a beautiful cultural exchange with them. The villa is magnificently well decorated and very comfortable (very good mattresses, beautiful and large bathrooms, a beautiful large fireplace in the living room, a large heated swimming pool, a very beautiful garden, etc.) The villa offers a feeling of peace, beauty and harmony. From the Reviews: What an incredible camp in the heart of the Agafay desert - it is by far one of the most special places I have stayed. The hospitality was exceptional, the rooms were incredible and the views and experience of being deep in the desert was exactly what I needed. Many of the other Agafay camps are quite early on as you enter the desert and are surrounded by a lot of tourist activities and other camps, Scarabeo is very remote and you can really feel it. From the Reviews: The staff make the place! It feels like a home away from home. Bilal and the rest of the team were warm, friendly, helpful and funny. We had a very nice time because they made sure everything was perfect! Samy and his kite team are incredible and really pushed this above ⬆️ our expectations! When you break up your day between lessons, meals and pool time time just flies when you’re having a good time! The chef and his kitchen staff create magic! As a foodie the idea of full board hotel scares me — but do not worry. The food is a la carte and you can choose from a variety of incredible meals. The chef build an amazing menu with daily additions depending on what fish was caught! The fresh oysters and ceviche were unparalleled!! Lots of activities keep the days / evenings fun like family dinners, Pétanque tournament, movie night, card games really made it feel much more like a community than “a hotel stay”!
