Where To Buy Furniture In France: The Best French Home Decor Brands

Where to Buy Furniture in France: Best French Home Decor Brands

When we moved to Paris in January of 2022 the only things that came with us were a handful of boxes, our bed frame and our queen sized mattress. Our light move was thanks to two major things: 1) we didn’t know how big our Parisian apartment would be and 2) I wanted to buy all things French.

After finally moving into our beautiful apartment in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, I began the process of scouting the best home decor brands in France for furnishing the corners of our home.

Figuring out where to buy furniture in France proved to be a bit more challenging (and expensive) than I expected, but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed discovering and purchasing from these beautiful French home decor brands.

My hope is that whether you’re a French local or you’re an expat moving to France, this guide on where to buy furniture in France will help eliminate some of the challenges to furnishing your French home.

WHERE TO BUY FURNITURE IN FRANCE: The BEST FRENCH HOME DECOR BRANDS

1) Maison du Monde: A French home decor power house, Maison du Monde has any home decor item you could need, from arm chairs to lighting. If you’re searching for a couch in France, Maison du Monde is a great spot to explore options as they offer products from many different French designers and brands. If you’re furnishing your French home or Parisian apartment from scratch, we recommend searching for a couch here.

Maison du Monde is where we purchased our linen couch, linen chairs and our living room rug.

2) Selency: My favorite French home decor brand, Selency is an online antique market place overflowing with endless antique goods from across France. The best thing about Selency, and why it’s at the top of my French home decor list, is that you can shop for antiques with dealers across the country and navigate the delivery through Selency itself (meaning you don’t need to go pick it up - which is essential if you’re moving to France without a car).

I found a beautiful French wardrobe for our guest bedroom as well as our antique French farmhouse dining room table, French bistrot chairs, antique coffee table and antique side table from Selency.

3) Sélection M: A smaller format French home decor store, Sélection M offers both modern and antique unique pieces for your home in France. Their site sells everything from dishware to antique furniture, with all products curated to fit a modern and clean interior design aesthetic.

From Sélection M, I purchased our overhead living room light, lamps for our guestroom and a refurbished wooden bench.

4) Debongout: Another smaller format French home decor store, Debongout offers a curated selection of antique finds as well as a catalog of modern day products. Although I’ve yet to purchase, I love checking the site after they’ve dropped their latest antique collection to see what’s new.

5) La Redoute: Similar to Maison du Monde, La Redoute is a French home decor catch all, offering products from both French and European brands with shipping to France, making it an easy hub to search a variety of styles. This is another great starting point if you’re at the beginning stages of figuring out where to buy furniture in France.

From La Redoute, we purchased our guest bed headboard and headboard cover.

6) Alinea: Alinea is a more bohemian focused French home decor brand, offering beautiful natural fiber products from couches to curtains. Even if you’re style isn’t too bohemian, Alinea is a great place to look through products for their simplicity and if you love furnishing your home with linens.

Alinea is where I found our dark green curtains (the perfect length for our French doors), and a few striped linen pillow cases.

7) Miliboo: Miliboo is another great French home decor brand for finding your perfect couch, console or dining table. Their products are mostly modern design and they have a full product offering from couches to decor.

After searching high and low on Selency for an antique bistrot table, I ended up buying one new from Miliboo, as it ended up being around the same price as the antique ones on Selency.

8) Westwing: Started in Germany, Westwing offers modern home decor products to the French market, with a beautiful collection ranging from couches to rugs. If you have a more modern design strategy for your home in France, be sure to check out their products. Although I haven’t purchased anything from the brand, I love scrolling through what’s new and appreciating the good design.

9) Kave Home: Another great French home decor brand for scouting out your sofa, Kave Home offers everything from beautiful furniture to garden and home decor. If your interior design style is sheek and modern, be sure to discover their design-led products when furnishing your French home.
